MusicRadio's REAL Oldies Weekends

The Music You Remember
From The Station That Never Forgot

Good Times Last FOREVER

During the week we play the best variety of music in the area...music from the 1950's forward. But on the weekend we turn into Solid Gold, playing the best REAL Oldies all day Saturday and all day Sunday.

What do we mean by 'Real' Oldies?? Well, some stations consider oldies to be most any song that is a few years old. MusicRadio plays only the 'good stuff' that is from the 1950's and 1960's...the period of time we consider to be the REAL deal for the oldies sound. Back to a time when Top 40 stations were just that...they played the top songs of the day, whether they were rock n' roll, pop or even country. Top 40 radio was all about the top sellers and top requested songs, regardless of the format. Today, and for many years now, almost all stations have focused their playlists on one type of sound...country, classic rock, hip-hop/rap, dance or whatever. We even now have strange format names such as 'Jack' radio (unreal but true) as well as a lot of other names such as that. We're not even sure what that means...but that's how narrowly specific radio playlists have become.

Of course rock n' roll, doo-wop and pop were the primary songs played on Top 40 stations, but not exclusively. Weekends on MusicRadio are a trip back to the 50's and 60's, a revival of Top 40 radio, and we only play what was played during that time period. That's why we call it REAL Oldies...cause it is! Cool, huh???
