MusicRadio 107.5 FM's broadcast antenna suffered a direct lightning strike on Friday, June 13, 2008. (wow....Friday the 13th........coincidence? hmmmmmm...weird) The powerful jolt destroyed our primary transmitter as well as our primary computer that was used for our automated broadcasts. We switched to a back-up system which is a substantial reduction of power output and, therefore, a much smaller signal coverage area. After 2 months of using this system we decided it is unacceptable for normal operations.

We have no idea if, or when, we may return. Getting new equipment would be quite an expense. We have always been self-supporting and we have no intention of changing that.

MusicRadio began operations on February 17, 2001 and has established itself as a professional and reliable radio station...and until we can again operate in that manner we feel it's best to not operate at all. We thank everyone who has listened and enjoyed what we've been doing. We've proven that there can be a radio station that is not based on profit...but on the premise that music, free of clutter, is better!
